Sundowns v Marumo Gallants tips: hosts have the goals
Mamelodi Sundowns to win @0.28 at Hollywoodbets (profit odds, stake excluded) is our selection. Their 25 league goals contrast sharply with Gallants' four, and the 4-1 win at Richards Bay showed how Matthews, Rayners and Basadien can turn different types of chance into goals.

Matthews and Rayners found several ways through
Tashreeq Matthews opened the scoring at Richards Bay from Siyanda Ndlovu's pull-back. After Bay equalised, Matthews crossed from the left for an unmarked Iqraam Rayners to restore Sundowns' lead.
Rayners scored again early in the second half after Ian Otieno saved Matthews' attempt. Fawaaz Basadien then volleyed in Teboho Mokoena's assist to make it 4-1 before the hour.
The goals came from a cut-back, a header, a rebound and a volley. Gallants must defend both initial deliveries and second balls, rather than simply block one preferred route to the penalty area.
Sundowns were able to make four changes in the 64th minute and manage the remainder of the game. That was a result built early enough to reduce the demands of the closing stages.

Gallants improved without finishing at Sekhukhune
Marumo Gallants lost 2-1 to Sekhukhune, conceding Bethuel Muzeu's winner in added time. Their first half was cautious, but they had more possession and put the hosts under pressure after the break.
Sibusiso Ncube's right-sided cross eventually produced an equaliser through a deflection and own goal. Attempts from Saketso Moremi and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo had failed to hit the target.
The problem is the gap between building pressure and scoring. Gallants have managed four goals across eight league matches, and their latest equaliser did not come from a clean finish of their own.
They have also conceded 12 and lost six times. Sustaining a spell of possession against Sekhukhune is encouraging, but Sundowns pose a far more productive attacking test.
Seven league wins against none
The football case is straightforward: seven league wins against none, 25 goals scored against four, and a recent Sundowns performance with three different scorers. Those differences support the hosts even though the return is modest.
Gallants' second-half display against Sekhukhune is the strongest objection. They can advance up the pitch and create pressure, and Sundowns conceded at Richards Bay after Xulu broke down the left.
An early Gallants goal would materially change the contest. Sundowns responded to that situation at Bay, but doing so once does not remove the risk of a cup opponent protecting a lead.
Rayners' penalty-area movement is central
Rayners was unmarked for his first goal at Bay and first to the rebound for his second. Both finishes punished defenders for losing him inside the area.
Gallants also conceded a late header to Muzeu after Kazeem crossed from the left. Preventing those close-range finishes is essential if the visitors are to keep the score level for long enough to threaten an upset.

Verdict
Sundowns to win is the selection, at half a unit. Their scoring volume and varied penalty-area threats give Gallants a much harder defensive assignment than their recent performances have handled.
