Verify a South African bookmaker licence. Last updated 2026-07-26.
Enter a bookmaker name to see which South African provincial board issued its licence, the licence number, the registered entity, and whether the licence is currently active. Data cross-checked against each provincial register on the date shown.
How the check works
- You type a bookmaker name.
- We look it up in our licence register, compiled from the nine provincial gambling boards and the National Gambling Board verified-operators portal.
- We return the licensing province, licence number, registered entity, CIPC registration number, and current status.
- You cross-check the licence number against the number in the operator's own website footer. If they do not match, do not deposit.
Our register is refreshed monthly. For a real-time check, visit the licensing board's official register (linked on our regulator hub).
Why licence verification matters
- An operator that cannot show a South African provincial licence is unlicensed. Deposits are not protected.
- A licence number that does not match the register almost always means the site has copied a real number from a genuine operator.
- An expired or suspended licence means the operator should not be accepting new deposits.
