Arsenal win by shutting teams out

Kai Havertz scored the only goal at Anfield on Sunday as Mikel Arteta's side beat Liverpool 1-0. That was a third straight league clean sheet after 1-0 at Forest and 2-0 against Everton.

Arsenal have conceded five league goals all season, and three of them came in one defeat at Brighton. Their home games against Coventry, Chelsea and Leeds produced two goals against in total.

The squad is in better shape than it was. Declan Rice captained the side in Wednesday's 2-1 Champions League win at Slavia Praha, and William Saliba was back on the bench after his back injury. Bukayo Saka is still out and Max Dowman serves a domestic suspension.

Hull are hard to beat but short of wins

Sergej Jakirovic's side drew 2-2 with Ipswich on Saturday, their fifth draw of the league season. Their last win was 1-0 at Coventry on 29 August.

Hull did take a point at Chelsea in a 2-2 draw, so they can score away from home. Mohamed Belloumi has three league goals and Oli McBurnie has two.

The injury list is long. Eliot Matazo, Matt Targett, Lucas Gourna-Douath, Ilyas Ansah, Darko Gyabi and Charlie Hughes are all out, and goalkeeper Jack Butland is a doubt.

Rotation is the risk

Arsenal let Slavia have 17 second-half shots in Prague on Wednesday, and that midweek load is the main threat to the clean sheet. Hull have scored in seven of their nine league games.

Why we prefer both teams to score no

An Arsenal win is priced at 1.16, which leaves nothing to work with. Backing at least one side to blank pays more and fits the clearest trend in Arsenal's season.

The selection also lands if Hull keep the score down and nick a 0-0 or 1-0. With Arsenal's defensive numbers and Hull missing six players, that is the angle we back.
