Start with the conditions, not the headline
A welcome offer may be a deposit match, a free bet or another form of promotional credit. The headline amount alone does not tell you what can be withdrawn.
Open the offer's terms before making the qualifying deposit. A payment method, account status or missed opt-in can change eligibility.
Five details to check
- Eligibility: who counts as a new customer and which account checks apply.
- Qualification: required deposit, payment method, code or opt-in.
- Use: eligible products, minimum odds and maximum stakes.
- Completion: wagering requirements and the deadline.
- Withdrawal: cash limits, excluded balances and the effect of withdrawing early.
Deposit matches have a ceiling
In a hypothetical 100% match capped at R500, a qualifying R200 deposit would generate R200 in bonus credit. A R700 deposit would generate no more than the R500 cap.
That credit is not automatically withdrawable cash. The offer may attach conditions to the bonus, the deposit or both.
Know what the multiplier applies to
A hypothetical R100 bonus with 10x bonus-only wagering requires R1,000 in qualifying stakes. If the same 10x applies to a R100 deposit plus a R100 bonus, it requires R2,000.
Game or market contribution rules can change how quickly those stakes count. Use the rollover calculator only after identifying the correct base and contribution rate.
Free bets can exclude the stake
If a hypothetical R50 free bet is stake-not-returned, a winning selection at 3.00 returns R100, rather than the R150 from a normal cash stake. Confirm the offer's own settlement rule before comparing the two.
Keep a record before accepting
Save the terms, qualification deadline and any confirmation message. If the offer needs an opt-in, check that it has registered before depositing.
The current brand-specific code belongs on the offer page. Don't rely on a code copied from an old article or another operator.
Declining the offer is an option
If qualifying would require a larger deposit or more betting than you planned, leave it. A bonus should not set your spending limit.
