Argentina have already clinched top spot in Group J with a perfect six points, and Lionel Messi is on fire with five tournament goals from two matches. Jordan arrive at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Sunday having lost both group games and with nothing left to play for. We see no path for the Jordanians here, and Argentina winning to nil is the standout pick of the card.

The Form Line

Argentina have been clinical in Group J, beating Algeria 3-0 on matchday one courtesy of a Messi hat-trick, then dispatching Austria 2-0 on matchday two with Messi netting twice to become the all-time top scorer in men's World Cup history with 18 goals. The holders are unbeaten in their last nine internationals, the defence has conceded zero goals in this tournament, and Lionel Scaloni has a full squad to choose from. They can afford to rotate, but given the attacking resources available, backing the flow of goals remains sensible regardless of any changes Scaloni makes.

Jordan made history by qualifying for their first-ever World Cup, but the tournament itself has been a harsh lesson. They lost 3-1 to Austria on matchday one, conceding twice inside the first half, then fell 2-1 to Algeria on matchday two after an encouraging first-half display was undone by a late Algerian goal. Their talisman Mousa Al-Tamari, nicknamed the Jordanian Messi, carries the biggest threat in the final third, but the gap in squad quality between these two sides is enormous. Argentina are expected to be close to full strength, with Messi, Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez all available.
